Advocacy and Policy Division (APD)

The Advocacy and Policy Division (APD) is the lead in the information and advocacy campaign of the National Organic Agriculture Program (NOAP). Likewise, it also serves as the technical and administrative secretariat of the National Organic Agriculture Board (NOAB).  Its functions are:

    1. Provide technical and administrative support to the members of the National Organic Agriculture Board (NOAB) in drafting resolutions, guidelines, and other issuances;
    2. Handle information, education, communication, and advocacy-related tasks relating the pursuit of initiatives on the promotion of organic agriculture; and
    3. Lead in the conduct of activities related to the celebration of the annual Organic Agriculture Month and the annual search for Organic Agriculture Achievers’ Awards.

The program conducts regular quarterly meetings for the National Organic Agriculture Board to further develop its policies and directions for the improvement and progress of organic agriculture. 

The advocacy programs of the NOAP statutes, policy dissemination and information campaigns. It is responsible for the promotion of awareness on organic agriculture technologies and products through information caravan, social media, quad media (print, broadcast, internet and outdoor), distribution of IEC materials, among others.  The NOAP continues to lobby for the adoption of organic agriculture ordinances and support to organic agriculture producers in the municipalities, cities and provinces. 

The NOAP holds nationwide educational and awareness campaign among consumers on the benefit of consuming organic products to boost local production of organic food and non-food products and to engage the organic agriculture industry stakeholders in policy development through the conduct of the National Organic Agriculture Congress (NOAC) and Regional Organic Agriculture Congresses (ROACs), and the celebration of the Organic Agriculture month every November.
