Youth Scholarship Grant on Organic Farming
The Youth Scholarship Grant on Organic Farming is a highly specialized internship program designed to instill and develop in the trainees (scholars) an appreciation and eagerness for organic agriculture and eventually adopt it as their source of income. It differs from other scholarship programs which provide tuition fee and stipend only.
The program, which is implemented by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), provides start-up support and mentoring for the implementation of their business plan, thus, empowering the youth to become organic agripreneurs. It is a twenty-one-month internship program for the youth to fully imbibe the “life of a farmer’ and the organic practices through nine-month schooling and on-site training with the farm partners and one-year hands-on practice and implementation of their proposed organic enterprise.
